Tributes to a man who always cared about business & fun for the common good
– the outgoing chairman of Basildon & Pitsea Carnival, Mr. George Coleman-Wood
Some three years ago, George invited our business to attend one of Essex’s largest carnival events, even though, operating from rural Essex, we had little monies and weren’t able to guarantee that we can pay the pitch fees. It was, I think, George’s carnival number 51, back in 2012. Thank you for the friendship great man!
It is said, “A friendship is one of the nicest gifts you can give yourself.” So today, we thank our good friend, the outgoing Chairman of the Basildon Carnival Association, George Coleman-Wood and his many volunteers on the showground. It is well-known saying: “Behind every great man is a strong team.” In this case, we express gratitude to George for his steadfast commitment to our food stall. Moving on, there is a famous saying: “It may be hard for the new person to fill the shoes of the predecessor.” His achievements were simply astonishing.
We enjoyed being in Basildon on an annual basis to spoil the fun loving community and it will be the fourth year this season for our can to be sent to this wonderful carnival event.
I am sure George will still be involved with the carnival and we wish him GoodHealth and Luck for many more years to come.

We had an enjoyable weekend at Wendover’s Garden Centre. More and more members of staff at the centre came to enjoy our wurst. Our Bavarian man went out to the centre of the Christmas market inside the centre and spoiled customers with delicious lebkuchen (gingerman).
Next week we will have our themed marquee launched and we will have a surprise…
The exciting time in Winter Wonderland /Bucks is not yet over, but we are entering another phase. During a business trip to Munich we were inspired by the way the Bavarians celebrate Christmas; nearly 20 Xmas markets and hundreds of Bratwurst stalls, nicely decorated, have been set up to spoil visitors from all over the world.
We managed to bring back our Bavarian man who was put into immediate action following the return from Munich.
Next week we will have our Bavarian themed marquee ready to spoil our customers even more. The artwork is already with our printers and I am excited to give you a glimpse of what you can expect from us very soon:
I leave you today with the words “good things in life take a while” and hope to see you all at the can.
For the Schenkelberg’s it looks set that they send their ‘can’ this year to Wendover/ Buckinghamshire.
The 2014 holiday season will be here before you know it. So mark your calendars for 2014’s Holidays at Wendover.
Holidays, Christmas Crafts Events, features numerous vendors with art, crafts, decorations, holiday food delicacies, gifts, stocking stuffers, and much much more. Take advantage of the largest selection of holiday trees, wreaths and fresh garlands found in Buckinghamshire.
They will have their traditional food plus home-made Dresdner Stollen and of course the Pretzel.
Their stall in Wendover will be open during the months of November and December from 9am to 6pm Mon-Sat and from 10:30am to 4:30pm on sundays.
Gourmet Express M C sent their ‘can’ to spoil visitors of yet another great School Summer Fayre.
We had a good day but the weather god didn’t mean it too well with us. Past noon, more and more people stormed the grounds of this newly re-build school in Heathrow. Highlights included the presence of the radio presenter of Hayes FM. He introduced visitors to various activities and also once helped by making an announcement to draw people in for a snack at our speciality food wagon. One could sense that there was a “brilliant buzz” at the fayre and the kids enjoyed various activities including face painting and a bungee jump thing.
The school raised monies and I hope the weather has not affected the fund raising to an extend that there will be any question marks over the next event next summer.
Last Saturday, 19th July 2014, the ‘can’ attended a very special carnival for yet the fourth consecutive year! Flyers had been designed with the event details and of course our food:
It is always such a pleasure to take part in the festivities in Coggeshall. The people are very nice and although we had to raise prices to offset the rising cost of commodities we did not miss out on the crowd for our Curry wurst.
Once the rain cleared up the sun came out and we had a warm and pleasant afternoon where the community enjoyed lots of fun activities. The curry wurst was in demand even before the parade was over; Our first guests, a family of four, arrived even before the parade finished; when I asked them if they had watched the parade the father explained that they were more interested to enjoy a good meal.
Our next event will be a large one. The venue will take place in a fortnight on the 8th of August in Eastbourne, East Sussex. It will be one of the seaside town’s largest event. It would be great if you can join us and share the fun with the whole of your families. Stay tune for more information…

This year the Philippines and Germany celebrate the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations
Gourmet Express Mobile Catering’s ‘can’ will be sent to serve German food. For every food item sold we donate 20p to our company’s charity of the year. Action Medical Research helps fund research for sick babies and monies are urgently needed. So come and bring all your family to enjoy this festival and our food. More detailed information about the event: http://pinoyradiouk.com/event/barrio-fiesta-hertfordshire/
First the good news: There will be German food available at the festival!!
We are all very excited about the forthcoming event this coming SUNDAY but the prospect of us being the one serving German food at the event has now been hampered; the council’s event team, apparently unaware of progress with the food stall arrangements of their outsourced event management organization, has apparently booked in another German vendor for the event.
We are awaiting news by the event organizers to clarify things. We are not giving up on this wonderful opportunity for our ‘can’ to spoil the visitors of the festival with delicious and healthy cooked German food.
Finger’s crossed we will take part. If the worst thing that can happen does happen we will have our fees reimbursed and we will be able to select a replacement event. We have a long summer ahead and as it looks plenty of sunshine and there are hundreds and hundreds of events being held this coming summer.
